Minted from 1935 to 1966 by the Royal Canadian Mint, these classic coins are the last 80% pure silver dollars minted for regular issue by the Canadian government. They represent the end of the era of real silver coinage and are relatively scarce today. Yet they’re trading at low premiums over melt value, making them a bargain in today’s silver market.
These authentic silver dollars feature the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II of England on the obverse and the image of two intrepid explorers, known as “voyageurs,” paddling a birchbark canoe on the obverse. The vertical lines above the voyageurs represent the Northern Lights.
