Canada's last true silver dollar

Minted from 1935 to 1966 by the Royal Canadian Mint, these classic coins are the last 80% pure silver dollars minted for regular issue by the Canadian government. They represent the end of the era of real silver coinage and are difficult to find in any real quantity today. Yet they’re currently trading at low premiums over melt value, making them an outstanding bargain in today’s silver market.

These lovely, authentic silver dollars feature the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II of England on the obverse and the image of two intrepid explorers, known as “voyageurs,” paddling a birchbark canoe on the obverse. The vertical lines above the voyageurs represent the Northern Lights.

Better than silver bullion

Canadian silver dollars offer all the investment advantages of silver bullion plus the added profit potential that comes with being scarce collectible coins. Unlike modern silver bullion coins such as American silver eagles and Canadian silver maple leafs, which are produced in virtually unlimited quantities each year, these classic Canadian silver dollars are in extremely limited in supply today. When the market heats up, classic silver coins can appreciate more than their underlying silver value.

Key Benefits
Low price. Canadian silver dollars trade at a relatively low premium over their melt value. Considering their age, condition, popularity, and demand in the marketplace, we're surprised they are not trading for much higher premimums than they currently command.
True scarcity. Canadian silver dollars survive in extremely limited numbers. This true scarcity can mean extra leverage to a rising silver price.
Private, liquid, and secure. Unlike most bullion coins, Canadian silver dollars are considered to be scarce collectible coins, so they are exempt from broker reporting and government confiscation. Plus, they offer instant worldwide liquidity.
Better than bullion. Combines low prices and relatively low risk with stronger upside potential than bullion.
