Our Power Pair #3 combines one Denver Mint and one San Francisco Mint $20 Saint-Gaudens in Mint State 63, paired for savings. (The D and S mintmarks appear just above the date.) Minted from 1907 to 1933, $20 Saints are often called to be the most beautiful U.S. gold coin. They offer all the benefits of gold bullion plus extra benefits like limited supply, collector demand, complete financial privacy, and extra premium potential because of scarcity. Unlike most forms of gold bullion, they are exempt from broker reporting requirements. In our opinion, they're better than bullion for bulk gold buyers.
20 to 40 times scarcer than P-Mint Saints
Untold millions of $20 Saints were melted down during the gold recall of the Depression, leaving precious few remaing at all, let alone in MS63. Not many investors realize that $20 Saints from the "wild west" San Francisco and Denver Mints are 20 to 40 times more scarce than the same coins from the Philadelphia Mint in MS63. Yet because of some market anomalies, common date S-Mint and D-Mint Saints in MS63 are cheap today, trading at virtually the same prices as their far more common P-Mint brethren. We think they're real sleepers.
• Better than bullion. All the benefits of gold bullion plus extra benefits like limited supply, collector demand, complete financial privacy, and extra premium potential because of scarcity.
• True scarcity 20 to 40 times scarcer than P-Mint $20 Saints for virtually the same price. Their true scarcity can mean higher premiums during periods of peak demand.
• Private, liquid, and secure. Unlike most forms of gold bullion, they are exempt from broker reporting requirements.
