French 20 Franc Angels in choice Brilliant Uncirculated condition are perhaps our favorite European gold coins. Inexpensive, beautiful, and with a fascinating legend behind them, they are a top choice for bulk gold investors and collectors alike.

Minted from 1871 to 1898, Angels are also one of the best values in classic coins. In BU condition they are five to ten times scarcer than French 20 Franc Roosters and Swiss 20 Franc Helvetias, yet they sell today for close to the same price, making them a true bargain.

Legend of the Lucky Angel

The magnificent ?Guardian Angel? design on the obverse was originally created during the French Revolution by Augustine Dupr?, and was considered a lucky charm from the start. Dupr? claimed to have been saved from the guillotine by the lucky Angel coin in his pocket. French pilots in World War I rarely took flight without one in their kit; and German fighter pilots received an Angel for every fifth Allied plane shot down during World War II.

Gold is enjoying its most aggressive and sustained bull market in a quarter-century. Experts are predicting gold prices as high as $1,500 to $2,000 in coming years. We urge you to take advantage of this temporary buying opportunity to increase your core position with these classic coins. When gold breaks out again, you'll be glad you did!

Key Benefits
Better than bullion. For a modest premium over modern bullion coins, BU Angels offer extra benefits like limited supply, constant collector demand, complete financial privacy, and extra profit potential because of scarcity.
Scarcity means leverage. BU Angels are four to five scarcer French Roosters and Swiss Helvetias but trade for almost the same cost. Such scarcity can mean can add leverage to a rising gold price.
Private, liquid, secure. These classic French gold coins are not reported to the IRS by brokers and are exempt from government confiscation. They offer complete financial privacy and instant liquidity.
