Italian 20 lire Umberto I gold coins in Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) condition are an excellent choice for bulk gold investors. They offer all the benefits of bullion plus true scarcity, complete financial privacy, and added profit potential.

Exactly the same size and weight as the extremely popular French 20 franc Angels but much scarcer in the market, Umbertos are an excellent value today. These classic European gold coins were minted pre-1900 yet they're trading for relatively small premiums over their gold melt value.

"Umberto the Good"

Dating from the 19th century Kingdom of Italy, Umbertos are superbly minted and feature Umberto I, King of Italy, who also held the title of Duke of Savoy. Umberto ruled from 1878 until his assassination by an anarchist in 1900. A hero among conservatives and wealthy landowners, he was nicknamed "Umberto the Good" after his death and buried in the Pantheon in Rome, the last of the Savoys to be honored so.

We prefer Italian 20 lire Umbertos to modern gold bullion coins because their genuine scarcity can provide added profits during a rising gold market. And unlike most modern bullion coins, their status as scarce collectibles means they carry no broker reporting requirements to the IRS and are exempt from confiscation under current laws, making them private and secure.

Key Benefits
Better than bullion. For a modest premium over modern bullion coins, BU Umbertos offer extra benefits like true scarcity, constant collector demand, complete financial privacy, and extra profit potential.
Exceptional scarcity. BU Umbertos are much scarcer than French 20 franc Angels but trade for almost the same price. Such scarcity can mean can add leverage to a rising gold price.
Private, liquid, secure. These classic pre-1900 gold coins are not reported to the IRS by brokers and are exempt from government confiscation. They offer complete financial privacy and instant liquidity.
