American Eagle Gold Bullion Coins Obverse                                         American Eagle Gold Bullion Coins Reverse

American Gold Eagle bullion coins are an excellent way to balance your investment portfolio and reduce risk with the security and profitability of gold, the world’s oldest and most trusted asset.

The only gold bullion coins backed by the U.S. government for weight and gold content, American Eagles are the safest, most secure, and most convenient way to invest in gold bullion.

In addition, American Gold Eagle bullion coins offer several benefits to the American investor or collector that are not offered by other modern-issue world bullion coins like Canadian Gold Maple Leafs, South African Gold Kruggerrands, Austrian Gold Philharmonics, and Chinese Gold Pandas. (See benefits below.)

American Gold Eagles are legal tender, not replica coins. Produced since 1986 by the U.S. Mint, they are available in four sizes: one-ounce ($50 face value), half-ounce ($25 face value), quarter-ounce ($10 face value), and tenth-ounce ($5 face value). They are also available as sets. Each one-ounce American Eagle gold coin contains precisely one troy ounce of pure 24-karat gold.

American Eagle bullion gold coins are ideal for first-time gold buyers and serious gold investors alike, and are eligible for IRAs.

Benefits of American Gold Eagles:

Gold content guaranteed by the U.S. — American Eagles are the only bullion gold coins guaranteed as to weight and gold content by the U.S. government.

Minted in 22-karat gold — Using the durable gold standard established for gold circulating coinage more than 300 years ago, each American Eagle gold coin is minted in 91.67% fine gold alloyed with a small amount of silver and copper added to harden and protect it against damage. Pure, 24-karat gold is actually quite soft. Adding alloy to pure gold makes it many times more durable than gold itself. However, each coin still contains its specified weight (one-ounce, half-ounce, quarter-ounce, or tenth-ounce) in pure 24-karat gold. The alloy weight is extra. A one-ounce American Gold Eagle, for example, actually weighs 1.0909 troy ounces.

Private and non-reportable — Unlike most gold bullion, American Gold Eagles are non-reportable the IRS by brokers. They offer complete financial privacy and the security of the world’s oldest and safest financial asset. Other modern issue world bullion coins like Canadian Gold Maple Leafs, South African Gold Kruggerrands, Austrian Gold Philharmonics, and Chinese Gold Pandas are reportable to the IRS when you sell them to gold dealers in increments of 25 ounces or more. American Eagles are exempt from this reporting requirement.

Eligible for Individual Retirement Accounts — Unlike other gold bullion coins, American Eagles are eligible to fund IRAs. In order to include American Eagles in your IRA portfolio you must have an independent custodian hold your gold for you. American Gold Exchange works closely with several suitable IRA custodians. Please call 1-800-613-9323 or email info@amergold.com for details.

Easy to store and transport — Gold bullion coins are compact, convenient, and easy to store or transport. We pack them securely in 3-inch tall, U.S. Mint issue, break-proof plastic tubes that are perfect for home safes and bank safety deposit boxes.

Instant liquidity — American Eagle gold coins are saleable at gold market value almost anywhere in the world and anytime. In fact, since their inception in 1986, American Eagle gold coins have become the worlds preferred gold bullion investment coin.

American Eagle Gold Bullion Coins

Better than bars and ingots — We recommend gold bullion coins like American Eagles over gold bars and ingots because they’re far easier to sell, store, and transport, and do not incur the additional costs of assaying when it is time for you to sell. With the advent of government-issue bullion coins in the last 20 years, most gold bar manufacturers have been put out of business.

Perfect mint quality — American Eagle gold coins are taken directly from the minting press and put directly into 20 coin mint storage tubes. Although they might occasionally get a small contact nick, their quality remains virtually perfect, like the day they were made.

Classic Saint-Gaudens design — The obverse features the world famous Augustus Saint-Gaudens design from the classic U.S. $20 gold pieces minted from 1907 to 1933. The reverse is graced with the inspiring “A Family of Eagles” design by Mrs. Miley Busiek.
