A full Gem quality New Orleans mint Eagle, and last year of issue to boot. First of all there are only 25 total PCGS and NGC Gem quality MS65 or higher (MS66 - MS68) graded New Orleans mint gold Eagles to date. And this number is certainly somewhat overstated due to resubmissions of the same coin to both grading services, it happens. There are some obvious duplications of single coins in the PCGS and NGC population reports. So this coin is one of the finest known for the series. As the last date of issue for New Orleans gold Eagles it also enjoys healthy collector demand. The rarity of this coin combined with the high technical merit and the relatively low price for these attributes make this coin a real winner in my mind.
