Buying Australia Silver Kangaroos
Australia Silver Kangaroo coins are an excellent way to buy silver bullion. Originally released only in proof condition as collectors' items, Silver Kangaroos in Brilliant Uncircuated (BU) debuted in 2016 and quickly became extremely popular among bulk silver buyers because of their high silver purity.
Containing one troy ounce of .9999 fine silver per coin, Silver Kangaroos are among the purest silver bullion coins produced by any sovereign mint. They are legal tender coins, not replicas, guaranteed for weight and purity by the Australian government with a face value of $1 AUD.
On the obverse, Silver Kangaroos depict the famous Red Kangaroo design by Stuart Devlin, originally created for the Australian penny. Through 2023, the reverse features the Jody Clark profile of Queen Elizbath II at age 89, wearing the George IV State Diadem Crown. Beginning in 2024, the obverse design features the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, and the monetary denomination.
Founded in 1899 as the third branch of the British Royal Mint in Australia, the Perth Mint remained under the jurisdiction of Great Britain until 1970, when it came under the auspices of the Government of Western Austria.
