7/27/2026: Gold, silver rising on safe-haven bids

Source:

Over the past week, I have watched closely as the global sentiment towards precious metals has shifted from lower towards higher values.

When military hostilities against Iran resumed two weeks ago, gold and silver were initially pressured lower, just like they were when the war began on February 28. Last week, however, they reversed course and began rising modestly. These gains have occurred despite sharp increases in oil prices, which have in turn fueled higher Treasury yields, the mechanism that most directly pressured precious metals during the first phase of this conflict.

This edition of AGE Gold Commentary, recorded Friday July 24, details the forces behind this change in market sentiment, and explains why a true bottom may be forming for gold right now. I also discuss how the other three metals are reacting to these new drivers, and I'll reveal what I see as the most oversold precious metal today.
